THIS PAST SATURDAY WE MADE OUR WAY TO CLEVELAND'S OLDEST AND MOST TRUSTED MARKET.
HAVING JUST WATCHED ANOTHER FOOD NETWORK SHOW THAT FEATURED THE WEST SIDE MARKET, I WAS EAGER TO SET FOOT IN IT AND BASK IN ALL ITS GLORY. WE DID HAVE ONE SPECIFIC INDULGENCE IN MIND, STEVE'S FAMOUS-THE-SIZE-OF-YOUR-HEAD-GYROS. (THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT.)
THE LITTLE LADY TOOK THE OUTING AS YET ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A FASHION STATEMENT COMPLETE WITH SATCHEL OF LIP GLOSSES. YOU KNOW, FOR THE EVER IMPORTANT TOUCH UP.
THE MARKETHOUSE WITH ITS 137 FOOT CLOCK TOWER HAS STOOD AS A CLEVELAND LANDMARK FOR NEARLY A CENTURY.
JUST OUTSIDE IS A SMALL MARKET WHERE LOCAL VENDORS CAN SELL A VARIETY OF HANDMADE GOODS.
YES. SHE SPORTED THOSE FABULOUS SHADES FOR THE MAJORITY OF OUR TRIP. MAY I REMIND YOU THAT IT IS AN INDOOR MARKET.
OUR VERY OWN LITTLE MISS KORS (FOR ALL YOU FASHIONISTAS OUT THERE.)
ENJOYING HALF OF A FOOT-LONG.
AND, THERE GOES THE OTHER HALF.
SUCH TANTALIZING TREATS TO SATISFY ANY CRAVING.
IN ADDITION TO GYROS AND HOT DOGS, WE PURCHASED A VARIETY OF FRESH PRODUCE, CRUSTY ITALIAN BREAD, APPLE FRITTERS, CANNOLIS, AND...
COTTON CANDY ICE CREAM!
(JEFF AND I BOTH EXPECTED THE WORST, BUT FOUND THE SUBTLE FLAVOR OF COTTON CANDY TO ENHANCE THE ALREADY DELICIOUS VANILLA SOFT SERVE. AND, WHO DOESN'T ENJOY ICE CREAM THAT IS COLORED BLUE? THE LITTLE LADY ENJOYED BOTH THE SWEET FLAVOR AND THE FACT THAT THE BLUE ICE CREAM MATCHED HER DRESS PERFECTLY.)
JUST ONE MORE THING TO LIKE ABOUT CLEVELAND.
char looks absolutely adorable - love the shades with that beautiful dress! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found your new market. :) My favorite line... "and there goes the other half!". Tell Char I'm a huge fan of cotton candy (AND bubble gum!) ice cream. She has good taste!
