Countdown to Cleveland - Day 20

MONDAY MARKED THE LAST DAY WE WOULD BE IN MADISON AS A COMPLETE FAMILY.  WE HAD ARRANGED FOR THE CHILDREN TO BE PICKED UP BY THE GRANDMAS THE NEXT MORNING, SO THAT WE COULD FOCUS ALL OF OUR TIME AND ENERGY ON THE MOVE.  IT SEEMED FITTING THAT WE FEAST ON PANCAKES.
WE ALSO HAD TWO VERY IMPORTANT VISITS PLANNED FOR THE DAY. THE FIRST WAS A GOOD-BYE VISIT FROM OUR AMY AND CAL PAL.  THIS GOOD-BYE IN PARTICULAR WAS RATHER DIFFICULT , AS THE FIVE OF OUR LIVES HAD BECOME SO CONNECTED IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

AMY SURPRISED "CHARJOE" (AS CALLUM AFFECTIONATELY CALLS THEM) WITH A NEW BATH TOWER AND BATH TOYS FOR THEIR NEW CLEVELAND BATHROOM.  THE LITTLE LADY HAD ALWAYS ADMIRED A SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEM IN CAL'S BATHROOM, AND WAS THRILLED TO RECEIVE IT!  (BY THE WAY, I JUST LOVE HOW OUR SWEET GIRL IS DEVELOPING SUCH A STRONG AFFECTION FOR ORGANIZATION JUST LIKE HER MAMA.)
THIS PICTURE SAYS IT ALL.  AMY HAD JOE AT "HELLO."

I'M NOT SURE WHO WILL MISS AMY MORE OUT OF THE THREE OF US.  SHE TOUCHED OUR LIVES IN A VERY SPECIAL WAY.   WE WILL MISS HER SWEET SMILE, CHEERFUL DISPOSITION, GIVING HEART, AND ENDLESS SUPPLY OF LIPPIES AND CHOCOLATE CHIP (TARGET) MUFFINS.

TOWARDS THE END OF OUR VISIT I FOUND SWEET CAL COZIED UP IN THE CORNER. OBVIOUSLY IN DENIAL AS WELL. (DON'T WORRY LITTLE MAN, WE DON'T WANT TO LEAVE EITHER.)

AFTER NAPS, WE AWAITED A SECOND GOOD-BYE VISIT FROM OUR OTHER DEAR FRIENDS, THE BAUERS.  WITH OUR CHILDREN BORN ONLY WEEKS (THE TWO C'S) AND MONTHS APART (THE LITTLE MAN AND L), MEL AND I HAVE ENJOYED SHARING OUR LIVES AS MOTHERS, RESIDENT WIVES, BLOGGERS, LOVERS OF ALL THINGS ORGANIZED, COOKING, TAKING PICTURES, MEAL PLANNING AND PARK DATES.  I ADMIRE HER FOR SO MANY THINGS, AND CONTINUE TO BE IMPRESSED BY HER ABILITY TO BALANCE HER BUSY HOUSEHOLD AND ACCOMPLISH SO MANY PERSONAL GOALS.  I AM SO THANKFUL TO THE LORD FOR ALLOWING OUR FRIENDSHIP TO GROW AT THE PERFECT TIME, AND FOR THE HONOR OF BEING GODMOTHER TO PRECIOUS L.  I WILL MISS OUR WEEKLY INTERACTIONS AND WEEKLY DIALOGUES ABOUT OUR CHILDREN'S CRAZY ANTICS VERY MUICH.  THANK THE LORD FOR BLOGS, TEXTING, AND EMAIL EXCHANGES!

WE WERE SO BLESSED TO RECEIVE A MEAL FROM MEL THAT AFTERNOON, SO THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE TO COOK IN THE MIDST OF PACKING.  MIGHT I ALSO MENTION THAT MEL IS ALSO A PHENOMENAL SCRAP BOOKER, AND HAS VOLUNTEERED TO SCRAPBOOK OUR COUNTDOWN TO CLEVELAND.  I GET CHILLS JUST THINKING ABOUT WHAT THAT BOOK WILL MEAN TO OUR FAMILY.  I ALSO GET A TAD TEARY THINKING ABOUT HER WILLINGNESS TO INVEST EXTRA TIME AND CREATIVE ENERGY TO THAT TASK AS AN ALREADY BUSY MOM AND WIFE.  LOVE. THAT. GAL.

OUR CREWS.
SAYING GOOD-BYE IS NEVER EASY.

GETTING ONE LAST LOOK.

WE LOVE YOU ANDERSONS AND BAUERS! WE CANNOT WAIT FOR A MADISON REUNION.
