School Yard Milestones

Monkey bars (noun)  -

1. A playground apparatus that requires strength, agility, and flexibility.
2. A common piece of playground equipment that often leaves helpless children dangling from its high metal bars pleading for strong parental arms to rescue them.
3. A three-dimensional piece of play equipment that may result in broken bones, or head injury.

Since April, the little lady has been determined to make her way across the monkey bars without any adult assistance or supervision.  This week she willed her petite frame from bar to bar, and finally accomplished her goal.  It was a sight to see her swell with pride after landing her dismount.  I hope we can avoid the ER this summer.
