DAY SIX (6/6/11) STARTED OFF SLOW AS WE RECOVERED FROM OUR EVENTFUL WEEKEND. I ALWAYS APPRECIATE TIME SPENT ON THE COUCH LOUNGING, AS DO OUR CHILDREN. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE WAKING UP TO MILK AND BLANKIES ON THE COUCH. I ALWAYS APPRECIATE THE EXTRA QUIET TIME TO ENJOY MY MORNING COFFEE AND RUB THE SLEEP FROM MY EYES.
I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF HOSTING BIBLE STUDY IN THE EVENING, WHICH WAS MEANINGFUL AS IT WAS MY LAST TIME MEETING WITH THIS PARTICULAR GROUP OF WOMEN AND AS A RESIDENT WIFE.
FIVE YEARS AGO A GROUP OF FOUR GATHERED, HAVING ONLY THE TITLE OF "RESIDENT WIFE" IN COMMON. AS WE MET EACH MONTH A UNIQUE BOND WAS FORMED AS WE SHARED EACH OTHER'S BURDENS, CELEBRATED EACH OTHER'S JOYS, AND SUPPORTED OUR HUSBANDS THROUGH RESIDENCY. WE PLANNED BABY SHOWERS, WELCOMED CHILDREN, HAD WEEKLY PARK DATES, PRAYED FOR ONE ANOTHER, ENJOYED MEETING FOR MEALS, AND GREW TO LOVE, APPRECIATE, AND RESPECT EACH OTHER. TWO YEARS AGO, OUR BIBLE STUDY GREW TO TEN WOMEN, A SWEET SURPRISE AND BLESSING FROM ABOVE.
I HAVE GROWN TO LOVE AND APPRECIATE EACH ONE OF THESE WOMEN, AS THEY HAVE PLAYED A VERY SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN MY LIFE SUPPORTING ME AS A BELIEVER, MOTHER, AND WIFE. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE TO THEM, AND TO THE LORD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS IN PROVIDING ME WITH SUCH A STRONG SUPPORT SYSTEM DURING OUR TIME IN MADISON.
I WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED AS THEY OFFERED WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT, CARDS, FLOWERS AND A GIFT CARD TO TARGET (HOW WELL THEY KNOW ME!) ON OUR LAST NIGHT TOGETHER. IT WAS A PRECIOUS WAY TO END OUR TIME TOGETHER, AND ONE I WILL NEVER FORGET.
