I Would Call That a Success

A Lesson in growth...

(our sprouted seeds)
I WANT TO THANK THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE FAITHFULLY FOLLOWED THE LITTLE LADY'S JOURNEY INTO POTTY TRAINING. I HAVE GREATLY APPRECIATED RECEIVING YOUR ADVICE AND HEARING YOUR TRAINING TALES (BOTH THE SIMPLE SUCCESSES AND THE PAINFUL BATTLES). AS A MOTHER, IT IS BOTH COMFORTING AND REASSURING TO KNOW YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR STRUGGLES. AND, I WOULD SAY THAT THE LAST FEW MONTHS HAVE BEEN A STRUGGLE.

BUT, I AM BEYOND THRILLED TO REPORT THAT WE HAD A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH AND TRIUMPH THIS AFTERNOON. (A QUICK SIDE NOTE, THE LITTLE LADY HAS BEEN WEARING BIG GIRL UNDERPANTS FOR TWO WEEKS WITH GREAT SUCCESS, ONLY HAVING ONE ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED TO OCCUR WHILE SITTING ON HER DADDY'S LAP POST-NAP. DARE I LAUGH?! AND, WHILE MANY A TRIPS TO THE POTTY RESULTED IN A MIGHTY STREAM OF NUMBER ONES, SHE MANAGED TO KEEP HER STUNNING STREAK ALIVE OF (ALMOST) ZERO NUMBER TWOS.) HOWEVER, TODAY AFTER MONTHS OF ATTEMPTING TO EXPLAIN THE SENSATIONS AND STRATEGIES INVOLVED WITH SITTING ON THE POTTY, THE LITTLE LADY FINALLY GOT IT (AND, WITH MINIMAL PROTESTS AND PLEAS TO BOOT). SHE AND I BOTH SQUEALED WITH DELIGHT AND CELEBRATED WITH KISSES AND HIGH FIVES! HAD I BEEN ABLE TO, I WOULD HAVE SET OFF CELEBRATORY FIREWORKS IN HER BATHROOM. I GUESS WE WILL SETTLE FOR SAVORING THE MOMENT WITH THE BANANA SPLIT FLAVORED SUCKER SHE PICKED OUT FOR ALL HER EFFORTS.

WHEW! WHAT A JOURNEY IT HAS BEEN! I KNOW WE ARE NOT IN THE CLEAR YET, BUT THE LIGHT IS APPEARING MUCH BRIGHTER AT THE END OF OUR TUNNEL. AND, I AM SO VERY, VERY THANKFUL!
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR PRAYERS. I KNOW MANY OF YOU HAVE COMMITTED TO PRAYING FOR OUR GIRL, AND I HAVE FELT THE STRENGTH OF YOUR PRAYERS.
