Labor Day 2010

NORTH WOODS 2010
ONCE AGAIN THE LARSON CREW PACKED UP THEIR BELONGINGS, PUTTING DAILY LIFE ON HOLD, TO SPEND QUALITY TIME TOGETHER AS A FAMILY IN "THE LAND WHERE TIME WAS NO MORE" (AS MY HUSBAND WOULD SAY). NOTHING IS MORE INVITING THAN MY IN-LAW'S CHARMING ABODE ON LAKE ENTERPRISE.
WHILE HOLDING JOE BY THE MID-MORNING CAMP FIRE I WAS STRUCK BY THE BEAUTY OF MY SURROUNDINGS. IT IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO REFLECT ON CREATION'S BEAUTY AND THE ONE WHO CREATED IT.
THE GENTLE WATERS OF LAKE ENTERPRISE
LITTLE MAN GETS HIS FIRST KAYAK RIDE

NOTHING SAYS "GOOD MORNING" LIKE MIMI'S HOT OATMEAL.
THE LITTLE LADY WAS EAGER TO ASSIST.

AN HOUR INTO OUR DAY AND THE KIDS ARE READY TO PLAY.
I LOVE TO HEAR CHAR'S SWEET GREETINGS AS EACH FAMILY MEMBER STEPS OUT OF THEIR BEDROOM AND INTO THE KITCHEN. SHE IS OFTEN THE FIRST ONE AWAKE (NO SURPRISE THERE.)

DRESSED FOR COOLER WEATHER IN A SWEATER KNIT BY AUNT CHRIS.
JUST UP FROM A NAP.

CAMP FIRE LOVE.

GEARING UP FOR A CRUISE AROUND THE LAKE.

OUR CAPTAIN

BEAUTY ALL AROUND.

SERIOUS BOATER (THANKS TO BOBBY)

CURIOUS AS TO WHY HE CANNOT GET IN THE WATER.

MAMA AND LITTLE MAN
DOC AND SWEET JOE

THE ONE WHO IS REALLY IN CHARGE.
DADDY/DAUGHTER TIME

NORTH WOODS PACK N' PLAY

STRUCK BY THE BEAUTY OF IT ALL.

WARMIN' UP AFTER SOME FUN IN THE LAKE

CHAR CONVINCED BOBBY THAT IT WAS WARM ENOUGH TO GO SWIMMING (BLESS HIS HEART). THESE TWO WERE ONE BRAVE PAIR IN THE COOL WATERS. I LOVE HOW THIS PICTURE DEPICTS HER FEARLESS NATURE AND HER IMPLICIT TRUST OF BOB. WHAT IMPRESSIVE BODY EXTENSION!
OUR BATHING BEAUTY

JOE LOOKS ON IN GREAT ANTICIPATION OF NEXT SUMMER WHEN HE, TOO, CAN GO SWIMMING.
BACK AT THE CAMP FIRE.

FOCUSED ON HER FIRST MALLOW OF THE WEEKEND.

QUITE PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS!
STILL GOT IT.

ENJOYING THE MERRIMENT

EVEN UP NORTH, MILK TIME IS A SACRED EVENT.

A FAVORITE PIC OF THE WEEKEND...SOMEONE'S READY FOR BED.
BACK ON THE LAKE. DAY TWO.
BOB AND DAWN SHOWED CHARLOTTE HOW TO MAKE BIRD CALLS. UNABLE TO FOCUS ON THE PICTURE, AS SHE HAS JUST SPOTTED A BIRD.
PRICELESS.

THERE WE GO.

MY MEN.

FLASHING HIS KILLER BLUES.

THIS IS THE FACE THAT JOEY GETS TO SEE UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL EACH DAY. I AM HOLDING JOE WHILE TAKING THIS PIC. SHE QUITE OFTEN VIOLATES HIS PERSONAL SPACE. THANKFULLY, HE DOES NOT MIND YET.
SISTERS

ANOTHER FAVORITE PIC OF THE WEEKEND.

UPON DOCKING, JOE WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STRETCH HIS SEA LEGS AND EXPLORE THE PONTOON BOAT. HE WAS THRILLED! (SOMETHING ABOUT THE COOL NORTHERN WATERS MADE HIS HAIR STAND ON EDGE ALL WEEKEND LONG.)

ENDING OUR WEEKEND WITH A TRADITION. IT IS AMAZING HOW MUCH CHARLOTTE HAS GROWN SINCE HER FIRST VISIT TO CAMP DAVID.

A LITTLE GOOD-BYE DANCE
IT IS ALWAYS HARD TO SAY GOOD-BYE AFTER SUCH A FUN-FILLED WEEKEND.
SO LONG ENTERPRISE LAKE. THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES AND WONDERFUL MEMORIES. WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEMORIAL DAY 2011.
