The Big Switch

LAST WEEK CHARLOTTE MADE THE SWITCH FROM CRIB TO TODDLER BED. WE KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME, BUT SUDDENLY IT FEELS VERY STRANGE TO WATCH OUR LITTLE LADY CLIMB INTO HER OWN BED BEFORE RECEIVING BEDTIME KISSES. I REMEMBER PLACING HER IN HER CRIB FOR THE FIRST TIME THINKING IT WAS TOO BIG TO HOLD SUCH A PRECIOUS LITTLE BABE.
BECAUSE JOEY AND CHARLOTTE SHARE A ROOM, WE WERE HESITANT TO TRANSITION TO A TODDLER BED. IT BECAME CLEAR IT WAS TIME WHEN CHARLOTTE WAS CLIMBING OUT OF HER CRIB AFTER ALL NAPS GREETING US WITH A CHEERFUL, "WHY HELLO, MOMMY. HOW ARE YOU?" WE CHOSE THE FREEDOM OF A TODDLER BED OVER A CHIPPED TOOTH OR MANDIBLE FRACTURE.
OVERALL, THE SWITCH HAS BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. BED TIME IS THE SWEETEST EXPERIENCE, AS SHE OFTEN REQUESTS GOING TO BED ALL ON HER OWN. THE FIRST WEEK, SHE DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO BE READ OR SUNG TO. SHE WOULD SCOOP UP HER BELOVED PINK BLANKIE AND MARCH STRAIGHT UP THE STAIRS TO BED. NAP TIMES ARE A TAD TRICKY, BUT SHE IS LEARNING TO GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT JUMPING OUT OF BED SEVERAL TIMES.
WE ARE VERY PROUD OF THE LITTLE LADY, WHO SEEMS TO BE GROWING UP VERY QUICKLY.
HOLDING TANK.
OUR SWEET ONES LOOK ON AS DADDY TRANSFORMS JOEY'S CRIB INTO A TODDLER BED.

EXCITED FOR THE TRANSFORMATION!
TAKING NO TIME TO ENJOY HER NEW BIG GIRL BED.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.

ACCEPTING THE CHANGE HAS BEEN A LITTLE HARDER ON THE OL' PARENTS, I BELIEVE. HOW QUICKLY THEY GROW UP.
